Podcasting before Pods...
A long, long, time ago.... back when a "Pod" was something a body snatcher arrived in, and computers were still beige, a daring group of pioneers came together to change the way we entertained ourselves.
Radio, film, and television, were all on the precipice of change; PlayTV kicked it over the edge.
Broadcasting was no longer the pervue of large faceless conglomerates. It now belonged to the people; and that was when things got weird.

So began the era of Internet Broadcasting. Programming you could watch and interact with. Delivered free of charge to your desktop or cubicle.. 12 hours a day, five days a week, our intrepid broadcasters and their tireless co-workers, brought images and sounds to the home viewer unlike anything that had been seen or heard before. THIS WAS THE FUTURE!
...But just not quite yet. PlayTV, and the revolution it helped bring about, was just a wee bit ahead of it's time. The shows stopped. The broadcasters scattered to the four corners of the globe, and time moved on...but the spark lived.
Jumping ahead a decade we find ourselves in a true whirlwind of technological change. Information and media are portable commodities. Grannies in Lunenburg, and geeks in Tofino can speak their minds and share it with a world wide audience..
Soon, this page will play host to a few examples of, dare I say it, "old school" Internet broadcasting. Some are fun, some are confusing, some are rough around the edges... but what the hell, we were inventing something new. Do you think Mr. Edison's first lightbulb was a big fancy 500 watt halogen?

As a bonus I'll be adding some re-created broadcasts of classic radio plays performed by the now defunct (Do you sense a trend here?) Revelstoke Radio Players. All in all it might just be a bit of fun.

So if that hasn't sparked your interest.. perhaps it's time you were moving on..
A quick word about the shows from the past...
The posted shows will be over ten years old. Keep that in mind when watching or listening. Phone numbers and instant messaging numbers are no longer valid. It's easy to watch something from the past, but you can't interact with it.
Some will be audio, some will be video.
Definitely NOT The CBC video shows
The first show is from shortly after PlayTV ended.
